Rachel Collins, LICSW

Founder/Therapist

I specialize in working with folks navigating race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, family stress and other aspects of identity, as well as the unique challenges that can arise from systemic inequalities and discrimination. My approach integrates evidence-based practices with empathy and respect. I honor the backgrounds and stories of each person I work with.

The work we do together empowers you to explore your strengths, recognize the impact of cultural and societal factors on mental wellbeing, sit with the uncomfortable, dismantle barriers to healing, nurture self-compassion, and foster growth in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to you. Whether you're navigating life's challenges, seeking to improve your relationships, or working through traumatic experiences, I am here to support you every step of the way.

As a culturally responsive therapist, I have an anti-oppressive framework and belief system, and this informs my practice. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where individuals from many backgrounds of race, ethnicity, immigration status, and sexual and gender identity feel seen, heard, and respected. I believe that culture, identity, and lived experiences are central to who we are, and I approach therapy with an understanding of how these intersect with our beliefs about mental health.

I approach my work with a person-centered, trauma-informed lens, and I utilize many approaches depending on the needs of each client. Some of these include:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Sex/Intimacy- Focused Therapy

  • Trauma-Focused Therapy

  • Attachment-Based Therapy

  • Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)

  • Existential Therapy

  • Somatic Techniques

When we're not working together, I enjoy traveling, cooking, music, friends, and hanging with my cat, Jiji.
